I feel that Riksscenen should be placed on a mountain. By that, I mean that their stage productions, with folk music, traditional dance, and joik, have a primal quality about them. Give me all the swirling skirts, men jumping high after hats, musical instruments I don't know the names of, throat singing, and protest songs – give me Riksscenen! Who would have thought, for example, that folk dance has become the hippest feature of Oslo's nightlife? Here, you can experience a rural party in the middle of the city.

Traditional music is unifying and important to preserve, and Riksscenen does an impressive job of providing a stage where all corners of the world can come together. Art can be political and relevant through the world of music, and Riksscenen maintains this through the club concept IDJA, where minority expressions and traditions worthy of preservation are highlighted.
